Mylène Henry est au pinceau ce que Fred Pellerin est au conte. Originaire de Bonaventure, son travail de peintre et d’illustratrice se distingue par sa vision toute personnelle : horizons éclatés, ciels et océans confondus, arbres-oiseaux; elle met en scène son pays d’origine dans toute sa poésie et dans toute la palette de l’arc-en-ciel. Chacune de ses toiles, chacun de ses tableaux a son histoire à raconter. On y plonge – et pour longtemps – sans jamais vraiment réussir à en faire le tour. Mylène a exposé en solo et en collectif aux quatre coins du Québec. Son oeuvre est une invitation au voyage au coeur de sa Gaspésie natale… Et tant qu’à y être, passez donc la rencontrer dans son atelier-galerie en plein coeur de Percé. Elle a une vue imprenable sur le rocher et elle y est tout l’été !
A Bonaventure native, Mylene Henry’s paintings and illustrations are recognizable through her very personnal view of the world surrounding her: fragmented horizons, skies and oceans melting together, tree-birds; she stages her native land in all it’s poetry and all the colours of the rainbow. Each of her canvas, each of her paintings has it’s own story to tell. We dive right in-and for a long time-without ever being able to see it all. Mylene has exposed in galleries solo, but also with a collective all over the province. Her work is an invitation to travel to the heart of her native Gaspesie…And while you’re there, why not stop and visit her gallery at the heart of Percé. She has an impregnable view of the Rocher Perce and is there all summer long!
